Vimal Jyothi Engineering College (VJEC) is an educational project of the Archdiocese of Thalassery established in the year 2002 and is managed by Meshar Diocesan Educational Trust. The college is approved by AICTE and affiliated to APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University (KTU). VJEC is a self-financing catholic minority institution aiming at generating fervor for Engineering and Technology in students. Here we inspire, nurture and foster them to realize their career potential in the field of Engineering and Technology.
With profound insight into the resource requirements of the higher education system, VJEC has proudly set up world-class infrastructure complemented with intellectual capital in the form of competent faculty. Many of the facilities are way beyond the regulatory requirements aiming for learning beyond the syllabus to address the requirements of the industry. These material facilities along with value addition programs and student support systems are the integral facets of empowerment at VJEC. VJEC is offering six B.Tech courses and six M.Tech courses.
Digital library, industry supported project labs, language lab, and student chapters of professional bodies such as IEEE, ISOI, IETE, SAE, CSI offers an extensive range of resources, opportunities and services to the outcome based teaching learning process. Effective implementation of quality control processes ensure Engineering graduates with the expected level of knowledge, skill and attitude.
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering was established in the year 2002. Currently the department is headed by Prof.Laly James, also the IEEE student branch Counsellor. Faculty members are actively involved in consultancy, R&D activities and publish their research work regularly in the National & International journals and publications. We realize the responsibility towards the society and nation and in order to serve this objective, numerous community development programs, STTPs, FDPs, workshops and conferences are conducted. Through selection of technical electives, students may specialize in certain fields of Electrical and Electronics engineering. These specializations include advanced electrical systems design, biomedical instrumentations, advanced power electronics, artificial intelligence, power controllers, HVDC, robotics etc. More emphasis is given for laboratory experiments and design projects.
The Department offers B.Tech program in Electrical and Electronics engineering and M.Tech program in Power Electronics to cater the ever challenging needs of technical excellence in all areas of Electrical and Electronics engineering. The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of Vimal Jyothi Engineering College, one of the prominent Engineering Institution in Kerala, takes immense pleasure in organizing an International Conference on Control, Power Communication and Computing Technologies (ICCPCCT-2018). The conference is technically Co-Sponsored by the IEEE-Kerala Section. The main theme of ICCPCCT-2018 is “Technology for a Green World”. The Conference will be a platform to focus on the core technological developments on Electrical Engineering,Electronics Engineering,Instrumentation and control, Computer Science and Information Technology, Communication Systems and other emerging technologies to be held on the 23rd and 24th March 2018 at Vimal Jyothi Engineering College. ICCPCCT-2018 aims to provide an opportune forum and vibrant platform for Researchers, Academicians, Scientists and Industrial Practitioners to share their original research work, patents, findings and practical development experiences on the specific new challenges and emerging issues confronting the nation.
